Cops: Wading River man charged with DWI, cocaine possession
A Wading River man caught driving while intoxicated was also in possession of cocaine and marijuana, Southold Town police said.
Richard L. Freudenberg, 29, was charged with DWI, criminal possession of cocaine and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.
Police pulled over Mr. Freudenberg for speeding as he drove eastbound on Route 25 in Mattituck at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, according to a press release. Police said Mr. Freudenberg had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, was slurring his speech, had blood-shot eyes and was unsteady on his feet.
He was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be held for a morning arraignment.
Mr. Freudenberg had been previously indicted in county court in August on charges of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, according to a prior report.
