Leander B. Glover

Leander B. Glover  Jr., of Cutchogue, known to his family and friends as “June” passed away peacefully April 1, 2015 with family by his side. Born to Leander B. and Freda (Ludder) Glover July 1, 1925, he carried on the tradition of farming the family land.  His love of the land was always evident.

An iconic figure in the Cutchogue community, June was also well-known and proud of his antique car collection. He was a dedicated 72 year member and ex-chief of Cutchogue Fire Department; past fire rescue and emergency services coordinator for the Southold Town; a member of North Fork Volunteer Fireman’s Association and North Fork Fire Police Association; a member of Model T Ford Club of America; and a past member of Cutchogue Lions Club.

June leaves behind his sons Allan W. and Everett B. and his daughters Eileen Roache and Sharon Burden, all of Cutchogue. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 grandchildren.

The family received visitors April 3 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue.  Services and firematic funeral were held April 4 at the funeral home. Burial followed at Cutchogue Cemetery.

Donations in Mr. Glover’s memory may be made to the Cutchogue Fire Department Rescue Squad or East End Hospice.
