The League VIII champion Mattituck baseball team will open the Class B playoffs with a best-of-three series against No. 4 Port Jefferson.

The top-seeded Tuckers take a 19-1 record into the postseason as they pursue a fifth county title in the past 13 years.

The first game is May 20 in Mattituck at 4 p.m. followed by the second game May 22 in Port Jefferson. The decisive third game would be played May 23 in Mattituck if necessary.

The Tuckers did not play Port Jefferson (11-9) in the regular season. The Royals play in League IX.

The League IX champion Southold First Settlers (18-2) will have plenty of time to rest up before starting the playoffs. Southold will play Pierson/Bridgehampton (14-6) in Class C starting May 26 in a best-of-three series. The second game of the series is May 27 at Pierson. The third game of the series would be May 29 back in Southold, if necessary. All games are set for 4 p.m.

The First Settlers went 2-1 against Pierson in the regular season.
