Photos: Peconic Landing hosts 10th annual May Mile & 5K

Peconic Landing held its 10th annual May Mile & 5K race in Greenport Saturday morning. The popular race benefits the Greenport Fire Department and highlights Older Americans Month.

Local businesses donated raffle prizes and North Fork Cheer sent a squad of cheerleaders to boost runners’ spirit. 

Salvatore Manno of Southold took first place, clocking a time of 18:41. Lauren Ruiz of Shelter Island was the first woman to cross the finish line with a time of 21:30. Eight-year-old Andrew McKenzie of Laurel took first place in the mile run with a time of 10:09.
