Five men in a sinking boat were saved by Sea Tow last night in the Long Island Sound off the coast of Cutchogue, according to police

Police received a call around 8 p.m. that five people were aboard a vessel which was taking on water about three-quarters of a mile off of Duck Pond Point. Upon arrival of the bay constable, Sea Tow already had the men aboard and were bringing them to safety.

They were brought aboard the police vessel and brought to the Mattituck Inlet boat ramp without incident.

None of the men were injured.

Four of the men were from Port Jefferson: Erick Hernandez, 21; Rudy Hernandez, 21; Celio Orteg, 35; and Osmond Hernandez, 28. A fifth, 34-year-old Roque Quintanilla, was from Centereach.

No charges were brought against the men, police said. Their vessel was towed to shore by Sea Tow.
