Police: Man speeding, driving on shoulder charged with DWI

Police said a Greenport man who was driving on the shoulder of Route 25 in Southold was caught driving drink, and was arrested on a misdemeanor DWI charge early Sunday morning.

According to police, 28-year-old Marvin Cuellar was seen speeding and driving on the shoulder of the road around 12:30 a.m. After he was pulled over, he allegedly had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath, slurred speech, glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet.

Police said he failed field sobriety tests and he was arrested and held overnight. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
