Louis Cleon Swain

Longtime Greenport resident Louis Cleon Swain died June 22. He was 60. 

He was born Nov. 1, 1954, in Morehead City, N.C., to Hazel (Lawrence) and Cecil Swain. He married Valerie Ann (née Lewis) Swain April 19, 1983, in Greenport.

Mr. Swain worked at Penny Lumber in Greenport for 23 years.

Predeceased by his father in 1972, his mother in 1989, and his brother, Cecil Jr., in 2012, Mr. Swain is survived by his wife; his sons, Louis Jr. and Matthew of Greenport; and his sister, Cecilia Eubanks.

The family received visitors June 25 at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. A service was held June 26 at the funeral home, officiated by Father Richard Hoerning. Burial took place at St. Agnes R.C. Church Cemetery in Greenport.
