Mattituck News: Yard sale to benefit Ben Pileski
I’ve often marveled at how our community comes together in the best and worst of times. This week our town sends out thoughts and prayers to the families of the four young women who lost their lives in the horrific accident in Cutchogue. Our thoughts also go out to the police and fire department members who answered the call. Assisting with such a tragedy is difficult and often has lasting effects on those who help at the scene. May God bless everyone involved.
Kait’s Angels is planning a yard sale to help Ben Pileski and his family as he continues his recovery from an accident in Montauk. It will take place Aug. 15 at the Doorhy residence at 1125 Ole Jule Lane in Mattituck. Volunteers are needed to set up, sell items and break down the sale. A bake sale is also planned and anyone wishing to donate baked goods or items for sale can drop them off between 3 and 7 p.m. Aug. 14. No early dropoffs, please. To volunteer or get more information, visit kaitsangels.org.

As August approaches, so does the wedding day of Christopher Papadopoulos and Elina Abramchayeva. May God’s blessing, and the sun, shine bright as the two exchange their vows at Water’s Edge in Long Island City and may this be the beginning of a beautiful life together. Elina is the daughter of Victoria Kazakova. Christopher’s parents are Dimitri and Alexandra Papadopoulos.
