Southold blotter: Bike, scooter and inspection stickers stolen

Someone stole a $700 bicycle from a Cutchogue yard last Thursday morning, police said.

• A scooter worth $350 was stolen from Greenport Village Saturday, police said. A Peconic woman told police Saturday afternoon that her son’s scooter was stolen the previous day.

• Someone stole registration and inspection stickers — worth a total of $300 — from two work trucks in Greenport, according to a police report filed last Wednesday evening. The manager of William J. Mills & Co. on Route 25 told police someone took a registration sticker from one truck and both the inspection and registration stickers from another, police said. He suspects the theft happened in the parking lot of his business but is unsure when.

There were no marks of forced entry or damage on the trucks, so police believe the vehicles were left unlocked before someone stole the stickers.

• A maintenance man in a Greenport apartment complex contacted police last Monday about a possible instance of burglary, police said.
