Featured Letter: Cleaning up this mess is no joke

To the editor:

I read your editorial this past week regarding the pony swim at Cedar Beach in Southold. I want to let you know that I took my grandchildren to Cedar Beach this past Friday at 1 p.m. In your editorial you referred to the occasional horse droppings.

I could have used your help for about 30 minutes in helping me bury the occasional horse droppings, which took me 45 minutes before I could put a blanket down on the beach for my grandchildren.

In the article there was a party who stated that there are dead animals such as deer which have been found at Cedar Beach. As a user of the beach for the last 25 years, I have never experienced finding dead animals at Cedar Beach.
