Cops: STOP-DWI patrol leads to three felony arrests Saturday

Three drivers were charged with felonies during STOP-DWI patrols across the Southold Town Saturday, including one man who allegedly drove drunk with two children in his vehicle, town police said.

Moises Martinez-Anzurez, 28, of Greenport was charged with DWI Leandra’s Law and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Two other men, Robert Garrido, 28, of Greenport and Jacob Riehl, 24, of Southold were both charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and issued interlock restriction violations, police said.

The Southold Town, Suffolk County, New York State and Riverhead Town police departments all participated in the patrols as part of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office East End STOP-DWI Taskforce. They conducted sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout Southold Town.

In Mattituck alone, more than 300 drivers were interviewed at a sobriety checkpoint Saturday, police said in a press release.
