Looking to find out more about this year’s Southold Town budget? Head to Town Hall Tuesday evening.

Southold Town Supervisor Scott Russell and comptroller John Cushman will host an informational presentation on the Town Board’s prepared budget Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.

A preliminary town budget, totaling just over $43 million, was unanimously approved at a Town Board meeting last week.

The budget includes a .56 percent reduction in spending compared to this year with a tax levy — the total amount the town can collect from taxpayers — that would stay under the state-mandated cap with a 1.36 percent increase.

The Town Board will later hold a pair of public hearings to hear residents’ opinions on the budget next week on Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
