Someone bought a lotto ticket in Mattituck worth $35K

Lotto

One local lotto player won big in Mattituck on Wednesday.

A Take 5 ticket purchased at Handy Pantry on Route 25 came up a winner, with a prize of $34,939.

It was one of two big tickets to hit in the area. A Powerball ticket from the 7-Eleven on Route 58 near the DMV hit for $150,000.

The biggest winner statewide was a $1 million Powerball prize, sold at a Wegmans in Niagara Falls.

“We are excited to see five large winners across multiple games in New York all on the same day. The New York Lottery has thousands of winners each day at different prize levels with our draw games, but this truly turned into a “Winner Wednesday’ for our players,” said Gardner Gurney, Acting Director of the Division of the Lottery.

People who bought a New York Lottery draw game ticket are encouraged to check their tickets again, as they could be holding a winner. Tickets expire one year after the game’s drawing.

The winners can claim the tickets at any one of the Lottery’s Customer Service Centers statewide, including the Long Island office at 45 South Service Rd. in Plainview or at Resorts World Casino New York City, 110-00 Rockaway Blvd. in Jamaica. To learn more about how to redeem a prize, click here.

The New York Lottery contributed $3.1 billion to the state education system last year.
