North Fork Community Theatre kicks off season with ‘Little Shop of Horrors’
The North Fork Community Theatre’s 58th season begins Thursday with “Little Shop of Horrors.”
Performances will be held at 8 p.m. on Oct. 29, 30 and 31, Nov. 5, 6 and 7, and Nov. 12, 13 and 14; and at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 1, 8 and 15.
Free receptions will be held each Thursday at 7 p.m. Wine tastings will be provided by Sannino Bella Vita Vineyard on Oct 29 and by Sparkling Pointe on Nov. 5 and 12.
The hit off-Broadway musical, written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken and adapted into a cult classic film, tells the story of meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn, who stumbles across a new breed of plant. The foul-mouthed, R&B-singing, carnivorous plant promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Seymour.
But over time, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s true plans and out-of-this-world origins and sets out to put things right.
Tickets are $20, with student rush tickets ($15) offered 10 minutes before curtain time, if available. Call 631-298-NFCT for a seat.
