Anna Orros

Anna Orros of Mattituck died Nov. 1, 2015, in Manhasset. She was 95. 

She was born Jan. 16, 1920, in Ano Lefkara, Cyprus to Iakovos and Fostira (née Zivanaris) Petropoulou.

A resident of the North Fork since 1976, she became a permanent resident in 1981 after relocating from Douglaston, N.Y.

Her daughter, Mary stated she was deeply devoted to Transfiguration of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in Mattituck and All Saints Greek Orthodox Monastery in Calverton where she was a founding member.

She was the wife of the late Nicholas Orros (1981) and mother of the late Jack Orros (1993) and Steven Orros (2007). She is survived by a daughter, Mary Guertin (Phil); grandchildren
Annene (Leo) Mutchler and Renee and Nicholas Orros; great-grandchildren Ricky and Ginelle Mutchler; daughter-in-law Lucy Orros; brother-in-law Peter Demetriou; nieces and nephews Mary Karavias, Peter and Marie Karous, Nick Karous and Fostira and John Rachwalski and other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in the United States, England and Cyprus.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Roslyn Heights Funeral Home in Roslyn Heights.

On Friday, Nov. 6, family will receive visitors from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Divine Liturgy will follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Transfiguration of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in Mattituck. Interment will take place at Calverton National Cemetery.
