Two men were arrested Tuesday evening after they allegedly stole from a vegetable stand on Route 48, according to Southold Town police.
The owner of the stand called police about 4:56 p.m. to report someone had stolen from the farm stand, police said. The victim showed police camera footage from the stand that had captured photos of the alleged thieves.
Based on the photos, police identified 42-year-old Phillip Jannazzo and 19-year-old Brandon Cone, both from Peconic, as their suspects.
The two were caught later that evening, police said. Both men were charged with misdemeanor petit larceny, with Mr. Jannazzo also facing “several traffic violations,” police said. The two were held overnight for arraignment Wednesday morning.
