Update: PSEG reports 15 outages in Southold Town

Update 9:10 p.m.: PSEG is reporting 14 customers in Mattituck are without power and another outage is in Laurel.

Power is expected to be restored by 9:45 p.m., according to PSEG.

Below is our original story:

About 1,086 PSEG customers throughout Southold Town are without power Monday night — mostly in Mattituck and Laurel — as a rain storm and dense fog continues to move through the area, according to the National Weather Service and power authorities.

A PSEG outage map shows 676 of those outages are in Mattituck and 410 outages in Laurel, with power expected to be restored by 10 p.m.

Nearly 450 customers in Riverhead Town have also lost power as of 9 p.m., according to PSEG.

The National Weather Service is reporting “hazardous” weather conditions with heavy rain, thunderstorms and dense fog through the evening.

The weather is expected to clear up Tuesday with sunny skies and a high temperature of 61 degrees.
