Cops: Patchogue man charged with DWI after crashing vehicle Thursday

A 52-year-old man was arrested Thursday and charged with drunk driving after crashing his vehicle in Orient, Southold Town police said.

William South of Patchogue was driving near Cross Sound Ferry on Route 25 at around 6:30 p.m. when he was involved with a single-vehicle accident, police said.

During the investigation, police found Mr. South was intoxicated, officials said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and held for an arraignment, police said.
