Robert J. Skinner

Longtime Mattituck resident Robert J. “Bob” Skinner died Dec. 19. He was 90.

The son of Wilma (Ollarek) and John Skinner, he was born Sept. 12, 1925, in New York City. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Skinner May 2, 1953, in Glen Cove.

Mr. Skinner served in the U.S. Navy for 2 1/2 years. He worked for Brookhaven Town Highway Department as a mechanic.

Family members said he loved fishing.

He is survived by his wife; his sons, Robert, of Jamesport, John, of Wading River and Brian, of Florida; his daughter, Linda Pandino of Manchester, Wash. and five grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Monday, Dec. 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Parish in Cutchogue.
