Cops: Riverhead woman charged with shoplifting in Mattituck

A Riverhead woman who walked out of Renee’s Clothing Store in Mattituck without paying for items was arrested shortly afterward, Southold Town police said. 

Rona Simmons, 45, was charged with misdemeanor petit larceny following the alleged theft at about 1:54 p.m. Friday, police said.

Ms. Simmons was stopped in Riverhead, arrested and transported to Southold Police headquarters to be held for arraignment, police said.

Ms. Simmons was also arrested for shoplifting in the same shopping center in 2012, according to a prior report.
