Cops: Greenport man arrested on bench warrant

A Greenport man turned himself into police on Wednesday to face an active bench warrant, Southold Town police said. 

Alfredo Argueta-Cortez, 29, had failed to appear for a scheduled court appearance after previously being arrested for DWI, police said.

Mr. Argueta-Cortez was arrested in Southold for DWI in December 2014, according to a prior Suffolk Times story. He turned himself in at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at police headquarters, police said.
