Madeleine J. Donahue Heinisch

Madeleine J. Donahue Heinisch of Southold died Feb. 15, 2016, at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport. She was 87. 

She was born at Eastern Long Island Hospital April 20, 1928, to Ann  (Quirk) and Raymond Webb Donahue and was a graduate of Southold High School and Mary Immaculate Nursing School.

On April 30, 1950, she married Bernard Heinisch at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold. Together they made their home in Albertson, N.Y., from 1950 to 1990.

Madeleine was a New York State registered nurse and a lifetime member of the New York State Nurses Association.

She was born, raised and retired in Southold.

Surviving are her husband, Bernard; four children, Barbara Heinisch (Malcolm Stitt) of Pawling, N.Y., Joanne Wright of Southold, Robert (Rosa) of Tuckahoe, N.Y., and Thomas, of Southold; and five grandchildren, James (Johanna) Perez, Jeremy (Elena) Wright, Daniel Wright, John Paul Molina and Gonzalo (AJ) Molina.

The family received visitors Feb. 17 and 18 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 19 at St. Patrick R.C. Church by Father Charles Donahue. Interment followed at the church cemetery.
