Cynthia Blyth Halsey

Cynthia Blyth Halsey of Southold died at the Riverhead Care Center March 31, 2016. She was 81 years old. 

Born in Manhattan Feb. 1, 1935, the only child of Harvey Randolph and Constance Chatfield Halsey, she was a 1956 graduate of Vassar College and worked in the advertising industry in New York City.

Cynthia had a lifelong dedication to historical preservation with a particular interest in the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also a devoted member of Southold Historical Society, Horton Point Lighthouse and Southold Indian Museum.

Formerly of New York City, she found her real home in Southold.

Predeceased by her dear friend and companion Elizabeth “Betty” Cameron McCahill on April 5, 2004; she is survived by the Houston—Thomas Family of Geneseo, N.Y.

Memorial services were held April 4 at First Presbyterian Church in Southold, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Peter J. Kelley Private interment took place April 3 at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.
