Frances A. Filmanski

Frances A. Filmanski of Riverhead died March 28. She was 90. 

The daughter of John and Frances (Skipka) Polecki, she was born Nov. 24, 1925, in Northville. She graduated from Riverhead High School in 1943.

Ms. Filmanski was a customer representative for New York Telephone. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and one of the original officers of the St. Isidore’s Parents Club.

Family members said she enjoyed working outdoors, traveling and taking day trips to casinos.

Predeceased by her husband, Louis, in 1981, Ms. Filmanski is survived by her daughter Brenda Prusinowski (Victor) of Riverhead; her sister, Josephine Daves of Pennsylvania and her faithful canine companion, Ginny. She was also predeceased by her siblings Joseph, Frank and Jennie Polecki and Helen Bushman.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, March 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 31, at St. Isidore R.C. Church in Riverhead. Interment will take place at the church cemetery.
