Robert Charles DiDomenico

Robert Charles DiDomenico, 77, March 8, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Raleigh, N.C.

He was born May 7, 1939, in Astoria, Queens to Charles and Louise Camutti.  His parents raised him, his two siblings, Richard and Mary, and first cousin, Teddy (who was thought of as a brother), in a small apartment, and instilled a strong devotion to the Roman Catholic Church and family.

Robert graduated from City College of New York and then served in the United States Army for two years. On July 6, 1958, he married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Ann Anelli, and together they raised four boys, Robert Charles Jr., Jeffrey John, Richard Keith, and Gregory Paul.

Robert’s career started in the mid-1960s as a sales executive for IBM. After 16 years with IBM, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur and together with the help of three of his sons, Robert, Jeffrey, and Richard, they built a successful computer supply business, TDI, Inc.

After the sale of TDI in 1997, he retired and enjoyed life surrounded by family and friends, traveled frequently, and proudly embraced his role as “Poppy” to six beautiful grandchildren: Amy Elizabeth, Robert Charles, III, Matthew Martin, Sophia Grace, Christopher Keith, and Thomas Gregory. In addition to his wife; sons and grandchildren, he is survived by his sister Mary Stazzeri and brother, Richard.

Robert was very generous of his time, frequently mentoring his younger friends and colleagues, and was proud to be in the support role to those in need. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his recollections of the happy and funny memories made with friends and family, his fondness for books and movies, and his devotion and love to anyone he called family or friend.

A Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 19, at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue.

Arrangements were entrusted to Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue.
