It wasn’t exactly all Hoegs all the time, but it was pretty darn close.

Four Hoegs accounted for all but one of Mattituck/Greenport/Southold’s goals in a 15-8 defeat of Sayville in a Suffolk County Division II girls lacrosse game on Wednesday.

Katie Hoeg and Audrey Hoeg led the way with four goals and three assists each in the game at Mattituck High School. Mackenzie Hoeg also struck for four goals, and Riley Hoeg contributed two goals and five assists as well as six ground balls.

Chelsea Marlborough also scored for the Tuckers (5-2, 4-2), who were coming off an 8-7 upset of defending state champion Eastport/South Manor.

Mattituck, which started the day in fourth place in the 26-team division, won 16 of 25 draws and collected 31 ground balls to Sayville’s 17.

An early indication of how the game would go was given when the Tuckers pumped in goals for a 3-0 lead in the opening 4 minutes 17 seconds.

Sayville (3-3, 2-3) twice cut the deficit to one, but was unable to equalize as Mattituck pulled away to its third straight win.

Kelly Marra and Meghan Havranek each had two goals and two assists for the Golden Flashes, who received another two goals from Maddy Schaefer.
