After a day of cloudy weather and the threat of rain, skies cleared just in time for the 11th annual Relay For Life of the North Fork at Jean Cochran Park in Peconic Friday night.

The event, which raises money for the American Cancer Society, had 120 people registered to attend and more expected to show up, according to Brittany Didonato, staff partner for the event.

After enjoying a dinner provided by Sound View Restaurant and a live musical performance by the OM-men, Cathy Russo of Mattituck took to the stage to deliver this year’s survivor story. Afterwards, she joined other survivors for the official “survivor’s lap.”

The schedule for the evening included an auction, games and a dance party.
