Robert J. Haldas

Robert J. Haldas of Southold died Sept. 8, at home in East Lyme, Conn. at the age of 75.

He was born in Roslyn on April 17, 1941, to Katherine (Doris) and Stanley Haldas and later served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Haldas had been a glazer with the plate glass division of Penn Glass in Bethpage.

Family members said he will forever be remembered for his love and devotion to his family. In his free time, he enjoyed being on the water and fishing and clamming

Surviving are his wife Pamela (née Schwindt); children, Dr. Jason Haldas, Dawn Haldas and Kim Haldas-Jalonack; siblings Richard, Joyce Tancredi, Patricia Peters, Roger and Gerry; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 10 at Mattituck Presbyterian Church with Caren Heacock, Pastoral Assistant officiating. Interment with U.S. Marine Corps honors took place at Cutchogue Cemetery.

DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home assisted the family.
