Anna K. Cummings of Cutchogue died Oct. 9, 2016, at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead at the age of 78.

She is survived by her son, Richard Coster; daughter-in-law, Nadia; beloved granddaughter, Claire; several nieces and nephews, including Pat Russo, Helen Gravina, and Coleen Prokop and their respective families, and the children of the Schwartz/Praus and Vasilyev families, who referred to her as “Grandma Ann.”

Born in the Bronx to Irish immigrants Thomas and Anna Cummings, Ann was the youngest and last surviving of seven children. After nearly a 40-year career at New York Telephone Company, she retired and moved from Queens to Cutchogue.

She was proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed listening to Irish music, especially The Irish Tenors. Ann enjoyed entertaining and frequently hosted get-togethers at her home for friends, work colleagues and extended family.

The family received visitors Oct. 13 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Religious services were conducted Oct. 14 by Father Ken Hand of St. Patrick R.C. Church.
