LIE reopened in both directions at exit 68
Both lanes of the Long Island Expressway at exit 68 have been reopened, according to multiple reports.
Multiple vehicles were involved in a crash at about 3:40 p.m. Saturay and multiple medevacs were requested, according to chatter on the police scanner. By late Saturday, Newsday reported there was one fatality and multiple injuries.
Newsday reported that the accident involved a pickup truck, a minivan and a motorcycle. Two people were airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.
