Martha T. Jackson

Martha T. Jackson of Greenport died May 15 at her residence at Peconic Landing. She was 97. 

The daughter of Howard and Helen Eustis Turner, she was born Feb. 27, 1921, in Boston.

Ms. Jackson attended the Windsor School and Mills College.

On Sept. 12, 1942, she married Richard Jackson in Cambridge, Mass.

Ms. Jackson was a member of the Huntington Hospital Auxiliary, Three Harbors Garden Club and Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum.

Family members said she enjoyed playing bridge, tennis and golf.

Predeceased by her husband in 2007, Ms. Jackson is survived by her son, Richard Jr. of Dorset, Vt.; her daughter, Susanne Miller of Norwalk, Conn. and her son, William, of Bedford Hills, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings, Frances Aldrich, Margaret Warren and Howard Turner Jr.

Interment took place at St. John’s Church Cemetery in Cold Spring Harbor.

Arrangements were in care of Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport.
