Southold Blotter: Man arrested for driving while intoxicated in Greenport

Erikas Manerskas of Springfield, Mass. was arrested last Monday for driving while intoxicated after police received a report of an erratic driver, according to Southold Town police.

He was stopped for a traffic violation while driving westbound on Route 48 in Greenport, police said.

• While on patrol, officers observed two New Jersey male subjects struggling with windsurf boards in Cutchogue Harbor in New Suffolk off Jackson Street on New Year’s Day around 3 p.m., police said. One man was able to make it to shore and the Cutchogue Fire Department dispatched its fire boat to help the other man. They both declined medical attention and no further action was taken, officials said.

• A Riverhead man said that someone stole an inspection sticker from an automotive shop in Laurel Friday around 10 a.m., police said.

• Last Friday, Southold police were notified of a dumpster fire on Commerce Road in Cutchogue, officials said. Cutchogue Fire Department extinguished the fire around 7:04 a.m., the report states.

• A Southold man reported a shrimp platter being stolen from his fish market Dec. 26 around 3 p.m. and is requesting restitution from the suspected person, police said.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
