Shirley Ann Fenderson

Shirley Ann Fenderson of Mattituck died Jan. 24. She was 81.

Shirley was born April 11, 1937, at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport to Ann J. (nee Bakowski) and Wilfred B. Corwin. She was raised in Mattituck and graduated from Mattituck High School.

In 1955 she married the love of her life, Philip H. Fenderson, and together they had a daughter.

Shirley enjoyed shopping, driving around and her trips to Foxwoods Resort Casino.

She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Jean Rivera and her husband, Frank, of Mattituck; her grandchildren Alicia Hughes and her husband, Jason, and Frank Rivera and his wife, Amy; and great-grandchildren Mackenzie Hughes, Maci Hughes, Maverick Hughes and Joshua Rivera.

Visitors were received Jan. 27 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.

Services took place Jan. 28 at the funeral home followed by interment at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.

Memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice Kanas Center for Hospice Care.
