In the Jan. 31 print version of the Southold police blotter, The Suffolk Times incorrectly reported a DWI charge against a Peconic man involved in a crash. Police said the driver was headed eastbound on Main Road at a high rate of speed and lost control of the 2005 Ford SUV, crashing into a PSEG utility pole and the Bedell Cellars sign.
The crash occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. Monday.
The driver was transported to ELIH for evaluation by members of the Cutchogue Fire Department, police said.
The police reports did not list any charges against the driver.
