Southold Blotter: Unlicensed drunk driver nabbed in Mattituck

Rene Titi-Chamle, 27, of Peconic was arrested for driving while intoxicated Saturday around 8:33 p.m. after he was observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane of travel on Route 48 in Mattituck, police said. There was also an open bottle of alcohol in the vehicle and he was driving without a license, according to Southold Town police.

• Antonio Morales-Boyate, 30, of Greenport was observed traveling westbound on Front Street in Greenport tailgating a vehicle and then passing the vehicle on the wrong side of the road in a no-passing zone, police said. He was then arrested on Sunday around 1:15 a.m. for DWI and driving without a license.

• Maureen Lademann of Cutchogue was arrested for DWI last Tuesday around 6:30 p.m., according to Southold Town police. She was observed driving erratically on Route 25 in Mattituck when police responded to reports and performed a vehicle stop, where they detected a strong odor of alcohol on her breath, police said.

• A Southold man was found to be in possession of prescription pills without a prescription and marijuana last Wednesday around 8:55 a.m., according to Southold Town police.

Peter Martin, 25, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana, along with several traffic violations on Cox Neck Road in Mattituck, police said.

• A Mattituck man said that several tools were stolen out of his truck that was parked in his driveway last Friday, police said. The value of the stolen items is around $300, officials said.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
