Registration open for 2019 Suffolk County Police Test
Registration is now open for the 2019 Suffolk County Police Test, which is offered every four years.
During a work session Tuesday, Supervisor Scott Russell said the town is planning on advertising the exam, which is slated for June 15.
“This is the test that the town hires from,” Mr. Russell noted.
Groups such as the Anti-Bias Task Force have called for increased diversity in the police force, which Mr. Russell addressed Tuesday. “In order to diversify the police department, we need minorities, we need women, to take the test,” he said, encouraging anyone interested to apply.
“We particularly want to have more Spanish-speaking officers,” the supervisor said.
Registration closes April 4 and there is a $125 application fee.
