Heidi Ann Burczyk Vandall

Oct. 31, 1954 – Feb. 5, 2019

One of the Lord’s angels here on earth was called to heaven.

On a twinkling winter’s afternoon, we sang our beloved Heidi Burczyk Vandall into eternal sleep. Born on All Hallows Eve, 1954, in Penn Yan, N.Y., she joins her father, John Richard, of Hazelton, Pa., and her mother, Edith Charlotte, of Rugen, Germany, as well as her only brother, John Edward, of Greenport, N.Y., in her final resting place. She leaves a void in the hearts of her husband, Peter Vandall, and her sisters, Patricia Urban of Kalispell, Mont., Trudy Boeding of Denver, Colo., Diana Busso of Rathdrum, ldaho, and Caroline Burczyk of Coeur d’Alene, ldaho.

An alumna of Greenport High School (Class of 1972), the joys of growing up on Long Island only deepened Heidi’s love for the sea. Although she was accepted into the Air Force, her travels as a missionary nun, and later with the Singing Nuns of Spokane, took her on many adventures throughout the U.S. and Canada. She never lost her spirit for travel and explored the shores of California and Hawaii.

Her 11-year career at Verizon brought new-found joy and responsibility. That joy only blossomed more with the introduction to her husband, Peter Vandall, in 2006. The couple lovingly joined in marriage Oct. 18, 2006, on a beach in Kauai, which soon became one of their favorite destinations during their beautiful years together.

Survived and adored by eight nephews, five nieces, two stepsons, one stepdaughter and five step-grandchildren, she loved and cared for every one of them with all of her heart and being. Their love for her continues to be undeniable, unending and irreplaceable. Heidi remains truly one of the kindest, most generous and gentle souls the world has had the pleasure of knowing. Her sparkle, smile and impact on this life will stay with her family and friends now and forever.

I will love you to the moon and back.
