Mary Ann Baumgratz

Mary Ann Baumgratz, 73, died May 10, 2019, at her home in Laurel, N.Y.

She was an only child born April 15, 1946, and raised in Garden City, N.Y., by her parents Donald and Margaret Jaeger.

Mary Ann graduated from Iowa State University in 1967 and had a successful career as a buyer for Sears Roebuck.

She married Richard Walter Baumgratz in Garden City in February 1970. Later she went on to become a wild life rehabilitator in Stoddard, N.H. She had a passion for animals, enjoyed ice skating, gardening, woodworking, playing cards and being with her friends and family.

Mary Ann is survived by her two children, Kimberly Moran of Newtown, Conn. and Richard Baumgratz of Charlotte, N.C.; their spouses, George Moran and Elizabeth Boyle Baumgratz; and her five grandchildren, Connor and Caroline Moran and Molly, Ellie and Madison Baumgratz.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 8, at 1 p.m. at The Church of The Redeemer in Mattituck, N.Y., officiated by the Rev. Roger Joslin. Arrangements are being handled by Coster-Heppner Funeral home in Cutchogue.
