Jenny T. Skirel

Jenny T. Skirel of Mattituck died at Acadia Center in Riverhead July 4. She was 88.She was born April 30, 1931, and had resided in Mattituck since 1948.

Jenny was a communicant of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue and a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Skirel, in 1992. She is survived by three children, Monica Seng of Chevy Chase, Md., and Edward and Bruno Skirel, both of Mattituck; and her siblings, Joe Swiatocha, Fr. Bruno Swiatocha, Frank Swiatocha, Veronica Czebotar and John Swiatocha.

Visitors were received July 8 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck, where vigil prayers were recited and the Sacred Heart Rosary Society conducted services. The Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated July 9 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church, followed by interment at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery.
