Police: Man dies in single-vehicle crash in Cutchogue

A Cutchogue man was killed Monday night in a single-vehicle crash near his home, Southold Town police said.

Melvin Dominguez was heading east on Route 48 in Cutchogue, just west of Alvahs Lane, around 10:38 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree on the south side of the roadway, police said.

Mr. Dominguez, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.
