Nathalie B. Rackett

Nathalie B. Rackett of East Marion died at home March 16, 2020. She was 91.

She was born in Greenport Aug. 17, 1928, to Hilda (Lindgren) and Frederick Bohlke.

Ms. Rackett graduated from Greenport High School in 1946 and later from Packard Business School in New York City.

On Jan. 8, 1950, she married Gordon Rackett at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Greenport.

She worked in the Village of Greenport utility office for 20 years.

Ms. Rackett was a member of Orient Congregational Church, was involved with Girl Scouts and volunteered for the Eastern Long Island Hospital auxiliary, receiving a pin for 5,000 hours of service.

Family members said she enjoyed gardening, travel, sewing, boating and the beach.

Predeceased by her husband, her son, Glenn, and her brother, Alton Bohlke, Ms. Rackett is survived by her daughters, Susan Rossetti of East Marion and Lauretta Rahmes of High Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A graveside service took place March 18 at East Marion Cemetery, the Rev. Ann Van Cleef presiding.Memorial donations may be made to Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton or another animal protection organization of the donor’s choice.

Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport assisted the family.
