Raymond J. Cubells of Mattituck died at home March 5. He was 83.
He was born in Queens Aug. 8, 1936, to Alice (Wasilewski) and Faustino Cubells.
Mr. Cubells graduated from Powell Memorial High School in 1954 and then Iona College.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1962 and worked as a subcontracting administrator with Grumman in Bethpage, N.Y.
Mr. Cubells was a sportsman who enjoyed soccer and baseball and was a fan of the New York Yankees. He served as a eucharistic minister at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Southold.
Predeceased by his sons Raymond Jr. and James, he is survived by his wife, Eva, of Mattituck; his children John, Stephen and Margaret LaGiudice; siblings Joseph Cubells and Jacqueline Bambino; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitors will be received Sunday, March 8, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A service will take place Monday, March 9, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick’s R.C. Church.
