Joseph L. Turchiano

Joseph L. Turchiano of Mattituck, formerly of Brooklyn, died April 1, 2020, at his home. He was 93.

Born Aug. 21, 1926, in Brooklyn, he was the son of Richard and Antoinette (Ficcorella) Turchiano.

He attended Midwood High School and Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. In 1951, he married Evelyn Luciano in Brooklyn.

Mr. Turchiano worked as a plumbing contractor for Richards Plumbing & Heating in Brooklyn. He was a member of the North Fork Italian American Club and the New York Plumbing Contractors Association. His hobbies included carpentry, fishing and reading.

He is survived by his wife; his children, Linda Wells of Washington, Richard, of Aquebogue and Joseph, of Staten Island; his sister, Justine Aronne of Maryland; his brother, Bernard, of Garden City; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements, handled by Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue, were private. Burial took place at Calverton National Cemetery.
