Frances G. Cratch Kindred

Greenport resident Frances G. Cratch Kindred died at home Aug. 21, 2021, at the age of 88. 

Born March 30, 1933, in Aurora, N.C., to James and Australia Merrick, she had worked as a certified nurse’s aide and married Willie Mac Kindred in Southold on April 20, 2001.

She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Southold. Family members said she enjoyed singing and sewing. 

Predeceased by a daughter, Velma Marie Cratch, she is survived by two daughters, Teresa Locus of Fayetteville, N.C., and Loretta McKnight of Greenport; her husband; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, Aug. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Horton Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport, where Pastor Tommy Edmonds will conduct a prayer service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Southold.
