Louis A. Dinizio

Louis A. Dinizio, a 23-year resident of Southold, died Feb. 23, 2023, at his home. He was 100.

Born May 24, 1922, in Greenport, he was the son of Antonio and Dilette Dinizio. He graduated from Greenport High School and served during World War II, from 1941 to 1945. He and his wife, Audrey, were married in 1948 in Greenport.

Louis worked for LILCO and retired in 1982. He enjoyed camping, traveling and gardening.

Predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Audrey, in 2019, he is survived by his four children, Gary Dinizio (Lois), Susan Haas (David), Christine Franke (Michael) and Wayne Dinizio (Sheila); 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers Anthony and William.

The family will receive visitors Friday, March 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. A funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, St. Agnes R. C. Church in Greenport, followed by interment at Sterling Cemetery in Greenport.
