Lola Cartselos Pabian

Lola Cartselos Pabian, age 56 passed away Aug. 13, 2026, in Lincoln, Neb. 

She was born Aug. 10, 1970, in New York, New York to Elpiniki and Charles Cartselos. Though not a Nebraska native, Lola made many close friends and found community during her 21 years in Lincoln. 

Lola was a beloved mother, sister, daughter and friend to many. She was someone who everyone was always excited to see. She had a vibrant personality, and a true gift for connecting with others and making them feel seen.

She was a first-generation college graduate, earning her bachelor’s from New York University.

She continued her education at Brooklyn Law School and completed her Juris Doctor in 1995. Lola had a career as a lawyer, and later as a recruiter at an actuarial firm.

After the birth of her children, she began to work for Lincoln Public Schools as a paraeducator.

She found her work with special education students to be very fulfilling and went above and beyond to meet the individual needs of her students. She eventually became a Registered Behavior Technician at Stride Autism Centers, where she administered ABA therapy for autistic children. She had a passion for teaching and learning how to better understand her students.

Lola loved her children, the students she worked with, and her family very dearly. She loved cheering on her son, Jake at all his sporting events. She loved the beach, animals, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and reading mystery novels. She especially loved winning at the board game Clue. She was someone who was always present in the lives of those she loved.

Lola will be missed for her witty comments, her contagious laughter, and her hugs. She impacted the lives of all who met her, no matter how long they knew her.

Lola is survived by her mother, Elpiniki Cartselos; children, Jason and Jacob Pabian; sister, Sophie Cartselos; brother, George (Regina) Cartselos; Nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Charles T. Cartselos and brother Charles Cartselos.

A celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
