Patricia Arlene Rowe

Former Mattituck resident Patricia Arlene Rowe (nee Tuthill) died on June 5, 2026 while hospitalized in The Villages, Florida. She was 84 years old. 

Born in Greenport on April 20, 1942, she was the daughter of Francis and Gerald Tuthill.

While attending Greenport High School in the late 1950s, she met her future husband Elwood Victor ‘Vic” Rowe, and they worked together at the Greenport Movie Theatre. She graduated from Greenport High School in 1960 and attended Queens General Hospital School of Nursing. She and Elwood were wed June 4, 1966, at St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport.

She worked for 35 years as a nurse at Eastern Long Island Hospital. They raised their sons on the North Fork and retired to Florida in 2005. She was predeceased by her husband, who passed away in 2020.

Mrs. Rowe was an avid gardener on both the North Fork and in Florida. For the past five years, she lived at The Carriage House senior community and was known to the residents as a kind and caring friend. She enjoyed spending time with her sons Brian and Sean, who visited there often.

Ms. Rowe is survived by her sons, Brian (of Washington, DC) and Sean (of Gainsville, Fla.); and her brother James and his wife Judy (of Cutchogue).

She and her husband Vic will be inurned together at Calverton National Cemetery at a future date.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
