Kristen W. Kunz

Kristen W. Kunz of Ramsey, N.J., formerly of East Marion died Sept. 11, 2026. She was 55.

Born in Hackensack, N.J., she was the daughter of Roger J. Walz and Leslie A. (Sennett) Walz. She earned a BA in economics from Boston College and married Richard F. Kunz on April 10, 1999 in Midland Park, N.J.

Ms. Kunz worked for a decade at Steve’s Market in Ramsey, N.J., and also at Fuji in the human resources department in Allendale, N.J. and in finance at Merrill Lynch in Brooklyn.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in N.J., the Orient Yacht Club and Gardiners Bay Estate. Family said she enjoyed boating, sailing, cycling, skiing, gardening, sweeping, concerts and volunteering at church.

Predeceased by her father Roger J. Walz in 2024, Ms. Kunz is survived by her husband Richard F. Kunz; daughters Emma M. Kunz and Abby E. Kunz, both of Ramsey, N.J.; her mother Leslie A. Walz of East Marion; and brother Jonathon M. Walz of Long Beach, N.Y.

Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport is assisting the family with service arrangements.
