Shirley M. Corazzini

In Loving Memory of Shirley M. Corazzini June 25, 1935 – Oct. 27, 2026

Shirley Corazzini, 91, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of unconditional love, kindness, and devotion to her family.

Shirley was born on June 25, 1935, in Greenport, to Hilda and Lyman Syrett. She graduated from Greenport High School and went on to pursue her passion for nursing, graduating from Glen Cove Nursing School as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). Her caring and compassionate nature was evident not only in her chosen profession but throughout every aspect of her life.

Shirley married the love of her life, Paul Corazzini, and together they shared 53 years of marriage before his passing in August 2008. Their marriage was built on love, commitment, and a shared devotion to the family they created. Above all else, Shirley’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her family.

She devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world, and the love she gave so freely will remain in their hearts forever.

Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Corazzini; her parents, Hilda and Lyman Syrett; her brother, Robert Syrett; her niece, Robin Ukpabi and her cherished granddaughter Blayr Corazzini.

She is survived by her four loving children: P.J. Corazzini (Ruthanne), Cathy Corazzini, Warren Corazzini (Erin), and Lori Peck (Gary).

She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Warren Corazzini Jr. (Jen), Kim Corazzini, Jeffrey Corazzini, Tyler Peck (Zoye), Payge Corazzini-Pagano (Mark), Emma Marshall, Jordan Marshall, Emma Peck, and Dougie Corazzini.

Shirley was also blessed with two precious great-grandchildren, Reed Corazzini and Oliver Peck, who brought another generation of love and happiness into her life. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to Shirley’s devoted caregiver, Laura. Her extraordinary kindness, compassion, patience, and loving care were a tremendous blessing to Shirley and her family. Laura provided not only assistance but genuine companionship, comfort, and dignity. Her dedication helped bring peace and reassurance to Shirley and those who loved her, and her kindness will never be forgotten.

Although Shirley’s passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her. Her legacy is one of immeasurable love. She taught her family the importance of caring for one another, standing together through life’s challenges, and cherishing the moments that matter most.

A mother’s love is a gift that never truly leaves us. It lives on in the lessons she taught, the memories she created, the traditions she passed down, and the love that continues through generations.

While her family must now learn to live without her presence, they will never have to live without her love. It will remain in every cherished memory, every family gathering, and every quiet moment when they wish they could hear her voice or hold her hand just one more time.

Shirley will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

There will be only a graveside service as per Shirley’s wishes. It will be on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. in the Saint Agnes Cemetery in Greenport. Horton Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport assisted the family.

In lieu of flowers donations in Shirley’s memory can be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or GiveLifeNY.
