Candis Joy Leary

Candis Joy Leary of Cutchogue died at Peconic Bay Medical Center Sept. 1, 2026. She was 45.

Born at Peconic Bay Medical Center Sept. 20, 1980, she was the daughter of Frank Emerson Leary and Joyce Lakowitz Leary. She graduation high school and shared her life with J.R. Wysocki (Wysocki). Ms. Leary worked as a secretary and in sales for Shade Trees Nursery in Jamesport.

Family say that Ms. Leary enjoyed fishing, crabbing, clamming, drawing, art, landscape design and signed up with the LiveOnNY organ and tissue donor organization.

Predeceased by her grandparents Frances Lakowitz and Bernard J. Gagen and Frank and Gladys Leary, she is survived by her mother Joyce R. Leary of Mattituck; son Isaiah T. Johnson of Cutchogue; and siblings William F. Stetker Jr. of Mattituck and Frank and Hunter Leary.

The family will receive visitors on Sept. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Horton Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. The funeral service is scheduled for Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
